Akshaya Patra: Authentic Indian Cuisine in Farmington Hills

Amazing food and service. Very quick and friendly staff and loads of variety in menu items. Ambience is pretty but a little crowded and that's what you want from a restaurant!

3-16-2025 Altho it felt a little odd and awkward, we had some good eats here. Our entree came to the table before the apps (??) but it was all delicious and I got good advice from our server for heat level (go high). We probably will come again to try the dosas that looked awesome.

The do amazing biryani. I have tried 2 different ones and they both were good, the dum biryani and special

decided to try a new venue and happy we did. Great food and easy to order on-line. Will be back maybe to try eating in vs carrry out.

The server was nice. The garlic naan was good with The firecracker tandoori chicken which was really flavorful and spicy . This really stood out as well as the chikoo(Sapodilla) shake. The mango lassi tasted standard. The mysore masala dosa had a lot of filling in it so I didn't end up finishing it - i enjoyed drinking the Indian coffee at the end

Stopped by for a buffet lunch on a Saturday. The place was packed but we got a table without any wait time. Food options and taste was good for appetizers but in veg main course both the entrees were on the sweet side and I missed having at-least one spicy/savory curry . Non veg main course selection and taste was pretty good. The thing that didn't work for me the most was that almost everything was lukewarm . May be it was due to the fact that it was almost 2 PM but I wished they had better mechanism to keep the food hot. I missed out on dessert as there is no refilling the trays after 2:15PM( the buffet is till 2:30) which I wasn't aware of :( Service was prompt and the staff were friendly and responsive.

We enjoyed our meal, but even though we ordered "mild", the food was too spicy for us. Next time, and there will be a next time, we'll ask for "mild minus". The staff were very solicitous and offered to replace our dishes, but we just asked for some raita to cool things down a bit. Aside from the heat, though, the flavors were delicious and portions were generous. The decor is also upbeat and fun.

This was my first all you can eat Indian food. Everything was very flavorful and filling. Great price for lunch! The restaurant has many curry options and was super busy.
